Our Mission
We want you to be the best paddler you can be, but have fun getting there. We offer coaching and mentoring, from core concepts on flat water to advanced skills in challenging conditions. We emphasize safety and rescue, skill building, and a solid foundation.
We are the mid-Atlantic rep for SKUK-NDK and Turning Point Boatworks. We carry and use a host of British paddling gear. We are based in Accokeek, southern Maryland, and maintain an office in Alexandria Virginia. Our locations afford us easy access to nearby launches for demos & lessons. We offer new and used sea kayak sales, minor repairs, & detailing. We also run group and private lessons, as well as small private kayak tours in the WDC area.
WHY I DO THIS
RANDI KRUGER
Owner, Coastal IT and River Instructor
I want peers, and it seems to me the best way to achieve that is to grow them right here at home.

I am an American Canoe Association Instructor Trainer in Coastal Kayak (aka Level 3). I also hold an ACA Open Water Instructor (aka Level 4) certification. In river I hold an Essentials of River Kayaking (aka Level 2) Instructor cert.

I have received both Safe Guarding (BC) and Safe Sport training (ACA) to help me understand, evaluate, and protect minors in coaching situations. I carry SOLO Wilderness First Aid and Red Cross CPR/AED certifications. I can also provide a background check, prior to working with minors, updated every two years.

My local launch is Marshall Hall Landing. This is where I prefer to meet for private lessons. No travel fee involved!

ROB SAN LUIS
Instructor
Rob San Luis joined the CCK team in 2017. He injects a warm, enthusiastic element into everything he does, including paddling. Rob has many years of experience as a fitness trainer. He holds both River and Coastal certifications. Rob is a gifted rolling coach, capable of both Greenland and Euro blade-style coaching. Rob enjoys surfing long boats, paddle boarding, and paddling whitewater most of all. Rob is the foundation that supports the CCK organization, saying “that way I get to play with ALL the toys!”
ALEX "SASHA" DEAN
Instructor

Alex is originally from Los Angeles where he learned the discipline required to master any skill-set by
becoming a concert-level violinist. He has always considered it his ‘craft’ and felt many hours of daily
practice helped him stay centered.
Since retiring in 2011 Alex has shifted his focus to sea kayaking. This
natural transition has replaced the violin with a boat and the bow with a paddle. He feels it is his life-
long love of the ocean and a deep desire for challenge that brought him to the sport.
His mentorship and friendship with Randi and Rob inspired him to take his paddling to the next level.
Now a level 3 ACA Instructor, he dedicates most of his spare time to teaching and paddling the east
coastline from Maine to Florida. Alex always looks forward to helping anyone with a desire to become a
better paddler, but when you see him on the water, call him Sasha!
