The Bait Ring replaces steel rings often fitted to whitewater rescue PFDs. The Bait Ring offers a known high strength connecting unit.
The 12mm thick ring provides lower friction for the exiting harness should the user activate a release. Usually an exit occurs with the Live Bait line at an acute angle to the swimmer which can cause bunching up the harness and affect its ability to easily slide out; the Bait Rings reduces this effect and so improves the ability of the harness to slide out and fully release the swimmer.
Should the wearer become a casualty then the Bait Ring
is a large easy target for rescuers to contact.
